Joe Rumore was probably the biggest radio personality Alabama has ever known, and it seems likely there will never be another like him. Born and reared in Birmingham, at the family’s Southside home, and on their Huffman farm, Rumore seems to have been set on a career in radio from the very start. SHOW ME NOW

I am extremely grateful to my employer for the opportunity to do so, and have often commented about how fortunate I felt to work in my dream job. “Richard Johnston: Hill Country Troubadour,” a documentary from the University of Alabama Center for Public Television and Radio, will be shown in Rome, Italy as a part of the 7th annual Mojo Station Blues Festival.
