Sandy,

Yes, "Boom Town" is available on DVD. I should have included information on how to order a copy in my original post, but I have added that information now.

Dear Max
Is this documentary available on DVD? I'm originally from C'burg and I believe my grandfather worked at the AOW. I could never figure out why he moved there from Montgomery but now believe that it was to work in "Boom Town". Would love to see the whole documentary. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

I never knew this. I worked as an explosives and decontamination worker for Rockwell, Intl., when they tore the place down in the 80s, but I never knew the history of the place.

Dear Sir,
When will the Boom Town Childersburg be shown again???

My father first came to Childersburg and helped build the plant -- And I have heard many stories of one of my husbands aunts that dated a lot of soldiers that came with the plant in WWII.

During the Cuban crisis in the 60's I was in the 4th grade -- and on a wall in my classroom was a map from the 40's --- Childersburg was in bigger print than Atlanta.

As a child I and most of my classmates were convinced that if we went to war with Russia that Childersburg would be one of the first targets -- because of that map.

Thank you for your time, and for putting together this story.

Sincerely

Linda Seay Williams

Dear Sir,
I am the Secretary to the Board of the Childersburg Historical Preservation Commission. I would like very much to get more information on this documentary for our museum. We have had much difficulty in getting information, documents or artifacts about the AOW, and, for that matter, about much of anything regarding Childersburg's history.I would be most grateful if you could steer me in the direction of resources, as well as inform me how to see this documentary in its entirety.
Kind Regards,
Susan Bates
